Luke Leverett is an acoustic pop artist from the NewBraunfels/San
Antonio area. His music is reminiscent of the current crop of male singer-songwriters, like
the Jason Mraz types and the John Mayers, but is set apart by his unusually great guitar
playing, his eclecticism, and his sophisticated melodies. His voice will probably remind
some of singers like Freddie Mercury and Jeff Buckley. The performances are always fun and
interesting, a blend of rock-star bravado, singer-songwriter candidness, and Jack Black comedy.
His songs are an intriguing mix of fact and fiction, ranging from pure acoustic pop to jazz
to indie rock. And the songs are bolstered by his funky jazzy drummer and bass player a la
Dave Matthews Band, that also provide gorgeous layers of harmony vocals.
